Takeover Tour ‘Sign of the Times’ with Anna Jessen and Philippe Jorisch
6 PM
The exhibition 'Sign of the Times' presents the results of the 2022 and 2023 editions of the SIA Master's Prize. This prize is awarded jointly by the Professional Group for Architecture of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) and the Architecture Council of Switzerland, which unites all Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences in the field of architecture. This special event format brings together representatives from the two institutions organizing the award – each representing the practice and the teaching of architecture – to take a closer look at the award-winning projects and the image of the architectural profession that they reflect.
In a dialogic tour of the exhibition with the guests, we will discuss in particular the changing relationship between the theory and practice of architecture: To what extent does theory (and thus architectural education) need to adapt more closely to professional practice so that graduates can be well equipped for work in architectural offices? How, on the other hand, must professional practice react to the changes that have emerged in theory and teaching in recent years - to the new questions, contexts and tasks?
