The Future of Swiss Architecture Competition - Part 1: Lectures and discussion
6 PM
In cooperation with SIA Basel & BSA Basel
The culture of the Swiss architecture competition is legendary and is considered exemplary in many countries. At the same time, many Swiss architects experience that the conditions in competition practice have become tougher. The performance requirements have risen noticeably in recent years, but the processing fees have generally not. Access to invited competitions is often difficult for young offices due to a lack of references, while freely accessible open competitions are not rewarded, which is something you have to be able to afford. On the occasion of the current exhibition 'Soft Power: The Brussels Way of Making the City', which focuses on the alternative Belgian open call system, the S AM, the BSA Basel and the SIA Basel are initiating a discussion on the future of the Swiss competition.
