Foundation - S AM Swiss Architecture Museum
As a foundation, the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel is a privately funded exhibition venue, which exhibits international and Swiss architecture in changing presentations. Since its founding in 1984, the museum has succeeded, thanks to various activities, in establishing itself as a highly renowned cultural institution within the context of increasing public engagement with architecture.

Purpose of the Foundation
The purpose of the foundation – the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum – is to promote understanding of the culture of building in the past and the present (particularly the historical, technical, aesthetic, economic and sociological aspects of architecture) in the general public, as well as among professionals.
