ACTIVITIES FOR KINDERGARTENS, SCHOOLS AND TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
Architectural education in the museum – The S AM Swiss Museum of Architecture as an out-of-school learning venue
Supported by Beisheim Stiftung
The S AM Swiss Museum of Architecture considers it very important to raise awareness of architecture, urban planning and building culture among kindergarten children, school pupils and students. This is because architecture, as a designed living space, surrounds us all, at all times, and has an impact on us.
TOURS AND WORKSHOPS IN THE MUSEUM AND OUTDOOR TOURS ON FOOT OR BY BIKE
Dialogue-based guided tours and workshops in the museum, offered at the appropriate level, accompany every temporary exhibition. These can also be booked outside the official opening hours, making it possible to have the privilege of being ‘alone in the museum’. In addition, tours on foot or by bike are an invitation to make discoveries outdoors. And now, in cooperation with Urban Development & Architecture of the Basel Department of Construction and Transport, visitors can discover the city on a city model. (PDF)
CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR TEACHERS
A range of continuing education and training at S AM invites teachers to get to know the museum as an out-of-school education venue and to use it for lessons in many different ways.
