In this publication, photos of forty buildings realised by Swiss architecture offices between 1987 and 2012 take centre stage. The intention to demonstrate the broadest possible spectrum of present-day positions in architecture photography was an essential factor behind this selection. At the same time, a panorama of the last 25 years of Swiss construction emerges.

The introductory chapters thematise historical and contemporary aspects of architectural photography and, last but not least, address the issue of the status of the photographic image in the age of the «iconic turn». A series of comprehensive interviews in the final section of the publication picks up on such considerations.
