S AM FM: FONENDOSKOP
5–6 PM
An intervention by collective ooo
As part of the project ‹S AM FM›, S AM and Soundcamp are inviting three fellows from the LINA program to perform interventions during the continuous radio broadcast.
Cities, villages, dwellings, administrative buildings, factories, shops, and infrastructure—these human creations are, in essence, no different from beaver dams, stork nests, or anthills. They are expressions of a species, its image, imprint, and reflection. Each has its own design, system, smell – and sound. But what are they telling us? In Slovak, «fonendoskop» means stethoscope, a tool with a resonator used to examine a patient by listening. It is an ongoing performative and sonic research project by collective ooo (Eva Vozárová & Fero Király), previously carried out at locations including the Slovak National Archive in Bratislava and the Moholy-Nagy University campus in Budapest. In this performance, ooo will perform a site-specific sound examination uncovering the hidden soundscapes within the building of the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum.
About collective ooo:
The collective ooo is a collaborative effort of musician, teacher, and intermedia artist Fero Király and dramaturg, artist, and researcher Eva Vozárová. Their curatorial and artistic approach stems from their hope for all living entities on this planet, even though we live in a time of the sixth biggest extinction of species in history. Their endeavors revolve around projects that delve into the intricate relationships between humans, non-humans, and the spaces we share, encompassing the fields of sound art, acoustic ecology, deep listening, environmental and social issues, as well as disciplines such as anthropology, philosophy, urban matters, mathematics, and others. They hold a preference for considerate and subtle artistic interventions.
